Illinois State Data Center Cooperative (ISDCC)

Introduction

As the need for information at all levels of government and industry steadily increases, the scope and volume of information products that are developed also increases. The Illinois State Data Center Cooperative (ISDCC), in conjunction with the United States Bureau of the Census, is coordinating access to and use of these statistical resources for administration, planning, and decision making in the State of Illinois.

• IL Dept of Commerce and Community Affairs (Lead Agency)
• Chicago Area Geographic Information Study (CAGIS), here at UIC (responsible for these web pages).
• Illinois State University, Census and Data User Services.
• Northern Illinois University, Center for Governmental Studies.
• Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC)
• The Illinois Business and Industry Data Center (BIDC) joined the program in November 1996, with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA) as the coordinating agency.

Selected services are provided by a network of affiliate data centers. The affiliate network is designed to extend access to census materials to city and county levels. Affiliate data centers include regional planning commissions, county and city planning agencies, universities, public and university libraries, health services research groups and local public libraries.
